Record 1 2019-11-26

English

Subject field(s)
  • Computer Programs and Programming
  • IT Security
CONT

A file virus infects executables, usually EXE files, by inserting special code into some part of the original file so that the malicious data can be executed when the file is accessed.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Programmes et programmation (Informatique)
  • Sécurité des TI
CONT

English

Subject field(s)
  • Animal Diseases
  • Beekeeping
CONT

Paralytic signs in adult bees are an obvious manifestation of disease.... Bailey et al.(1963) demonstrated that the adult bee paralysis was caused by several different viruses. They identified and named the first picornavirus to cause adult paralysis as acute bee-paralysis virus(ABPV) to differentiate it from chronic bee-paralysis virus(CBPV).... Infected adult bees usually show the first symptom of "acute" paralysis in 2 to 4 days and then die within a day, in contrast to bees with chronic bee paralysis, which die several days later following chronic paralysis. The ABPV may infect both adult bees and brood when the colony is infested by a parasitic mite that may serve as a vector in transmitting the virus from severely infected to healthy bees.

OBS

Chronic bee paralysis virus (CBPV) causes a disease characterized by trembling, flightless, and crawling bees, while Acute bee paralysis virus (ABPV) is commonly detected in apparently healthy colonies, usually associated to Varroa destructor.

OBS

Record 3 1994-09-20

English

Subject field(s)
  • IT Security
CONT

When a program infected by a parasitic virus is executed, the virus code is executed first. Then, the virus returns control to the original program, which executes as usual.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Sécurité des TI
CONT

Record 4 1993-02-18

English

Subject field(s)
  • IT Security
CONT

Most parasitic viruses... spread when another(uninfected) program is loaded and executed. Such a virus, being memory-resident, first inspects the program for infection already in place. If it is not infected, the virus will infect it. If it is already infected, further infection is not necessary(although some parasitic viruses... do reinfect ad infinitum).

French

Domaine(s)
  • Sécurité des TI
CONT
