The Armed Forces Institute of Pathology(AFIP) was founded as the Army Medical Museum on May 21, 1862, to collect pathological specimens along with their case histories.... Increased emphasis on pathology during the twentieth century turned the museum, renamed the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in 1949, into an international resource for pathology and the study of disease. AFIP's pathological collections have been used, for example, in the characterization of the 1918-influenza virus in 1997. 3, record 2, English, - Armed%20Forces%20Institute%20of%20Pathology

2, record 2, French, - Institut%20de%20pathologie%20des%20forces%20arm%C3%A9es

The overall aim of [the Proteases and Tissue Remodeling Unit] is to understand the function of matrix degrading proteolytic enzymes in physiological and pathological tissue remodeling processes, including cancer invasion and metastasis. An area of emphasis is the study of the biochemistry, biology, and pathology of the plasminogen activation system. Ongoing studies include the identification of the target substrates for plasmin during selected physiological and pathological tissue remodeling events... 1, record 3, English, - tissue%20remodeling
