Lipid mediators are crucial signaling molecules generated through intricate biosynthetic pathways. They serve pivotal roles in a range of physiological processes, encompassing inflammation, blood pressure regulation, and energy metabolism. Dysregulation of various lipid mediators, including prostaglandins, leukotrienes, resolvins, sphingolipids, and endocannabinoids, contributes significantly to the pathophysiology of diverse diseases. 2, record 1, English, - lipid%20mediator

Two pathways to glaciogenic cloud seeding were developed. Static seeding aims at using modest or "optimal" amount of seeds with the target of forming ice(or snow) crystals that collect supercooled droplets in a process called riming, which leads to formation of graupels and their precipitation. 1, record 21, French, - ensemencement%20dynamique

[The] step-index multimode fiber has a large core, up to 100 microns in diameter. As a result, some of the light rays that make up the digital pulse may travel a direct route whereas others zigzag as they bounce off the cladding. These alternative pathways cause the different groupings of light rays, referred to as modes, to arrive separately at a receiving point. The pulse, an aggregate of different modes, begins to spread out, losing its well-defined shape. The need to leave spacing between pulses to prevent overlapping limits bandwidth-that is, the amount of information that can be sent. Consequently, this type of fiber is best suited for transmission over short distances, in an endoscope, for instance. 2, record 40, English, - step%2Dindex%20multimode%20fiber

Beginning in early life temperament, traits and personality predispositions shape developmental pathways through three basic transactional processes. Reactive transactions occur when different individuals exposed to the same environment experience it, interpret it, and react to it differently. Evocative transactions occur when an individual' s personality evoke distinctive responses from others. Proactive transactions occur when individuals select or create(consciously or not) environments of their own. It should be clear then, that temperament and personality traits are not static... 1, record 51, English, - reactive%20transaction

3, record 65, French, - carrefour%20%C3%A0%20niveaux%20diff%C3%A9rents

Regulatory enzymes occupy key positions in metabolic pathways. The structural elements needed to make a regulatory enzyme are used with great selectivity and imposed only on those enzymes with which it will result in the maximum economy of the cell' s resources. An understanding of a particular multienzyme pathway usually suggests which enzymes might make attractive candidates for regulation. For example, many biosynthetic pathways involve a long chain of single chemical steps, each carried out by a discrete enzyme.... It is obviously most economical for the first enzyme of the pathway to be inhibited once sufficient end product is present. 3, record 68, English, - regulatory%20enzyme

The simplest form of engineered trench, or shallow land burial, relies mainly on the properties of the excavated overburden and the geohydrologic properties of the site for containment. The intent is to ensure that the travel time of radionuclides from the waste to the human environment via groundwater is long compared to the nuclide half lives. Travel time is long because of low hydraulic gradients, soils of low water permeability and high contaminant adsorption, and lengthy pathways across exclusion zones. 4, record 70, English, - trench

Illustration of a shallow land burial facility (engineered trench). ... Figure 9 outlines the engineered trench option. In this option, the major characteristics are that: . wastes are placed below grade (in suitable hydrogeological conditions) in trenches having a specially prepared bottom that incorporates a drainage system; . there is an earthen cover over the wastes that easily can incorporate additional engineered barriers; . structural stability is not provided by the disposal facility; and . for structural stability, voids between the waste containers are filled with sans or earthen materials - bulk wastes may be compacted. 5, record 70, English, - trench

Shallow-land burial in trenches was the original low-level waste disposal practice at the beginning of the nuclear era. Optimal application of protein engineering technology will require understanding how the amino acid sequence of a polypeptide chain specifies its spatial conformation. It is now clear that polypeptide chain folding and subunit assembly proceeds through sequential pathways involving defined intermediates. The critical amino acid instructions directing these pathways appear to be dispersed through the sequence... Very similar patterns of chain folding and domain structure can arise from different amino acid sequences that show little or no homology. 1, record 89, English, - proactive%20transaction

I am interested in studying reactions of glutathione with electrophiles, enzyme catalysts for these reactions, and the biological and chemical fates of the glutathione-electrophile conjugate products of these reactions. My colleagues and I have identified a novel glutathione-conjugate transport protein, RLIP76, which functions in intracellular signaling pathways and can also transport structurally unrelated amphiphilic chemotherapeutic agents. We are currently studying the role of this transporter in lung cancer cell drug-resistance and morphology. 2, record 90, English, - glutathione%20conjugate
