Although ATV [Automated Transfer Vehicle] will dock to the Russian Zvezda module, it will carry most of its dry payload for the US elements of the ISS [International Space Station]. At the launch site in Kourou, French Guiana, six weeks before flight, Jules Verne will be loaded with 1 300 kg of dry cargo out of the 5 500 kg maximum capacity. Most of the dry cargo provided by NASA will be clothes, food, towels and wipes for the crew, logistics items such as batteries and spare parts for maintenance of the Station. This cargo will also include ESA [European Space Agency] experiments such as ANITA, which will constantly monitor the cabin air, and some Russian hardware to be added to the panels of the Station's Russian Service Module.

Systems Analysis of a Future Semi-Reusable Launcher, Based on a High Thrust Bleed Cycle Rocket Engine. In this paper a high thrust, cryogenic bleed cycle engine, to be used for propulsion of future reusable booster stages(liquid fly back boosters), of an expendable heavy lift launcher, is analyzed. The system configuration remains unchanged, in terms of total available fuel and the number of engines, hereas the variation of the engine parameters result in a change of total system mass and payload capacity. Different arrangements of bleed cycles are being analyzed, and compared with each other. The paper describes a simplified heat transfer model, used in the analysis of the suggested cycles. The thrust chamber design is discussed and a preliminary design of the booster vehicle, including a trajectory analysis, is presented.

The Spacehab's Logistics Double Module [LDM] is a 20-foot long, 14-foot wide, 11. 2-foot high pressurized aluminum module carried in Atlantis’ payload bay and connected to the middeck area of the orbiter by an access tunnel. For STS-106, the LDM will carry approximately 8, 100 pounds of hardware, equipment and logistical supplies to outfit the International Space Station. Designed to augment the Shuttle's middeck, the double module has a total cargo capacity of up to 10, 000 pounds and contains the systems necessary to support the crewmembers, such as ventilation, lighting and limited power.

The COF Element is a multi-purpose cylindrical pressurised laboratory with an Earth-like atmosphere, permanently attached to the ISS. It has a capacity for 10 international standard payload racks(5 of which are allocated for use by other International Partners) with the facilities to be used primarily for the materials science, fluid physics and compatible life science disciplines. The COF also has external attachment points providing resources for Space Science, Earth Observation and Technology disciplines. The COF... will be attached to the "front-end" of the ISS at Node 2. The primary structure is based on the Italian Space Agency's Mini Payload Logistics Module(MPLM) primary structure and is 6. 7 m long by 4. 46 m diameter.

The steady-state operations of the COF systems and the European Payloads located within the COF will be supported by a number of organisations, teams and ground segment facilities both in Europe and the US ... Each facility is interconnected with the ESA provided IGS (Interconnect Ground Subnet). This wide area network will be implemented around a hub in Europe, with relays at the major points of data entry (MCC-H, PDSS) and nodes at each of the sites in Europe involved in COF operations. It will be based on a combination of leased lines and a public service provided ATM Virtual Private Network (VPN).

Destiny Laboratory. The Destiny Laboratory Module is the centerpiece of the International Space Station, where unprecedented science experiments will be performed in the near-zero gravity of space. The lab consists of three cylindrical sections and two endcones with hatches that will be mated to other station components. A 50. 9-centimeter-(20-inch-) diameter window is located on one side of the center module segment. This pressurized module is designed to accommodate pressurized payloads. It has a capacity of 24 rack locations. Payload racks will occupy 13 locations specially designed to support experiments.

The Window Observational Research Facility(WORF). The WORF will provide a stable platform such that the full capacity of the U. S. Laboratory window(the highest optical quality window ever flown on an inhabited spacecraft) can be utilized. The WORF will provide payload support infrastructure including mounting hardware, power, cooling, and access to the ISS [International Space Station] data system.
