Private health insurance is often defined as insurance that is taken up voluntarily and paid for privately, either by individuals or by employers on behalf of employees... This definition recognizes that private health insurance may be sold by a wide range of entities, both public and private in nature.... The reference to private payment signals a further defining characteristic : private health insurance premiums are typically linked to a person's risk of ill health or set as a flat rate, whereas pre-payment for publicly financed coverage is almost always linked to income. 1, record 7, English, - private%20health%20insurance

A rentcharge is an annual sum issuing out of land, but not as an incident of tenure, the due payment of which is secured by a right of distress. It is called a rentcharge because the land in respect of which it is paid is charged with a distress. Where there was no power of distress the rent was called a rent seck.(Halsbury, 4th ed., Vol. 39, p. 565). 1, record 27, English, - rentcharge

The equitable doctrine of marshalling applies where there are two creditors(A and B) of the same debtor and two funds(X and Y) out of which payment must be claimed, and where... A can resort to both funds... for the satisfaction of his debt but... B can resort to only one fund(Y). In this instance, equity will intervene and, in order to prevent.... A from depriving... B of his security, order A to be paid out of the X fund to which B is not entitled, resorting to the Y fund only in case of deficiency, while allowing B to be paid out of the Y fund.(Yogis, "Canadian Law Dictionary", l982, p. l32) 1, record 32, English, - doctrine%20of%20marshalling

"delivered duty paid" means that the seller delivers the goods to the buyer, cleared for import, and not unloaded from any arriving means of transport at the named place of destination. The seller has to bear all the costs and risks involved in bringing the goods thereto including, where applicable, any "duty"(which term includes the responsibility for and the risks of the carrying out of customs formalities and the payment of formalities, customs duties, taxes and other charges) for import in the country of destination. 3, record 63, English, - delivered%20duty%20paid

delivered duty paid: Whilst the EXW term represents the minimum obligation for the seller, DDP represents the maximum obligation. This term should not be used if the seller is unable directly or indirectly to obtain the import license. However, if the parties wish to exclude from the seller’s obligations some of the costs payable upon import of the goods (such as value-added tax: VAT), this should be made clear by adding explicit wording to this effect in the contract of sale. If the parties wish the buyer to bear all risks and costs of the import, the DDU term should be used. This term may be used irrespective of the mode of transport but when delivery is to take place in the port of destination on board the vessel or on the quay (wharf), the DES or DEQ terms should be used. 3, record 63, English, - delivered%20duty%20paid

Record number: 63, Textual support number: 1 OBS
2, record 63, French, - rendu%20droits%20acquitt%C3%A9s

The return of a portion of the freight charges by a carrier or a conference shipper in exchange for the shipper giving all or most of his shipments to the carrier or conference over a specified period of time(usually 6 months). Payment of the rate is deferred for a further similar period, during which the shipper must continue to give all or most of his shipments to the rebating carrier or conference. The shipper thus earns a further rebate which will not, however, be paid without an additional period of exclusive or almost exclusive patronage with the carrier of conference. In this way, the shipper becomes tied to the rebating carrier or conference. Although, the deferred rebate system is illegal in U. In this form of subscription, the buyer is usually allowed to cancel his order or limit it to a smaller number of coins or sets upon issuance, while the issuing mint guaranties its prices until shipment or guaranties the price of the whole set of coins if paid in a single payment before a stated date. But when the commitment involves precious metal coins to be issued in more than a year, it is possible that the prices be established only once the coins have been issued. In this case, the buyer will have to pay the market price before receiving the coins; he may also choose to cancel his order or limit it to a smaller number of coins, but not after shipment of the coins. 1, record 80, English, - subscriber

Deferred rebate : The return of a portion of the freight charges by a carrier or a conference shipper in exchange for the shipper giving all or most of his shipments to the carrier or conference over a specified period of time(usually 6 months). The result of dividing "Total Payments" by "Total Injuries". Although this statistic provides some indication of the relationship between the number of workers’ compensation claims and the total amount paid, caution should be used in attempting to interpret "Compensation Quotient" as a variation on "Payment per Claim". The reason is that the compensation totals shown cover all claims in that year, regardless of the accident or entry year, while the number of injuries relate only to newly-reported claims in that year. 1, record 93, English, - compensation%20quotient
