3, record 2, French, - apprentissage%20par%20projets

... the "Atmospheric Surface Layer"(ASL), the layer of the atmosphere within which all our activities(except flying) take place. The ASL is the inner layer of the PBL within which vertical mixing is limited by proximity to the ground-a layer within which the eddy size is small because the solid barrier prohibits any organized downward(or upward) motion. Vast amounts of heat and vapour travel through this surface layer to the outer PBL and ultimately the whole atmosphere. 8, record 3, English, - surface%20boundary%20layer

FRZ(freezing level) is the pressure level in the troposphere where the temperature is freezing(32°F, 0°C).... FRZ is located as the intersection between the 0 degree C isotherm and the temperature sounding. In the sounding below the FRZ level is 571 mb. You can verify this by following the 0°C isotherm from the bottom of the diagram up to the 571 mb pressure level. At this pressure level the sounding temperature will be intersected. To get our bearings, at 571 mb, the dewpoint is-10°C, temperature is 0°C and theoretical temperature an air parcel raised from PBL would be is 4°C. 2, record 5, English, - freezing%20level

5, record 5, French, - niveau%20de%20cong%C3%A9lation
Record number: 5, Textual support number: 2 OBS
Record number: 5, Textual support number: 3 OBS
The surface layer is the shallow fraction of the PBL [planetary boundary layer] near the surface where the fluxes are approximately equal to the surface values. The surface layer is therefore often called the constant flux layer.... The relevant parameters in the surface layer for the wind profiles are the momentum flux, the buoyancy flux and height above the surface... The height above the surface is the length scale for turbulence because the size of the transporting eddies is confined by their distance from the surface. If the potential temperature and specific humidity are considered, we also need the kinematic fluxes of heat and moisture... 1, record 6, English, - kinematic%20heat%20flux
