The North Peace Tribal Council(NPTC) was incorporated in 1987 by the Beaver First Nation, Dene Tha’ First Nation, Little Red River Cree First Nation, Tallcree First Nations. The mission statement is to : address issues, resolve problems, share information and deliver programs and projects to achieve efficiencies by working together as Chiefs, Councilors and Elders and by engaging their first nation members. Youth for Exchange and Understanding(YEU) is an International Non-Governmental Youth Organisation established in 1986 and member of the European Youth Forum in Brussels as an INGYO. The main aim of the Youth for Exchange and Understanding is to promote peace, understanding and co-operation between the young people of the world, in a spirit of respect for human rights. The UN General Assembly established November 21 as World Television Day to encourage nations to exchange cultural programming focusing on peace, security, economic and social development. The announcement was made in resolution 51/205, at the 99th plenary meeting of the Assembly, on December 17, 1996.
