Canada and the EU signed an Agreement on Cooperation in Nuclear Research at the December 1998 Canada-Eu(European Union) Summit. This Agreement provides access for Canadian Researchers engaged in research on peaceful uses of nuclear energy to EU Research projects-potentially including those managed by the European Atomic Energy Community(EURATOM) for decommissioning nuclear reactors in Central and Eastern Europe. European researchers will receive access to Canadian nuclear programs. The Muriel McQueen Fergusson Centre for Family Violence Research is a collaboration between Muriel McQueen Fergusson Foundation, a charitable trust established to assist victims of family violence, the University of New Brunswick, community-based organizations and government. Research from this Centre looks mainly at woman abuse/violence against women, specifically on rural issues, dating violence, immigrant communities, Aboriginal communities, substance abuse and sexual harassment. In the area of child abuse and neglect, research focuses on developing peaceful environments in schools, anger development and children in foster care.
