Another type of puller that may be used to assemble asbestos cement pipe and fittings is called a "frame puller". The frame puller consists of two frames which clamp the pipe on each side of the coupling. The clamps(frames) are joined by two handle assemblies which form two levers between the clamps. When pressure is applied to the levers, the frames tighten on the pipe giving a positive pull between the two pipes.

Some plumbing codes require that all ABS pipe and fittings be "black" and all PVC [polyvinyl chloride] pipe and fittings be "grey" in colour. This is so that the material can be quickly identified by sight. ABS pipe will support combustion, and while PVC will burn, it will extinguish itself if a supporting flame is removed. Both ABS and PVC piping is well suited for DWV [drainage, waste and vent] installations as permitted by the plumbing code.

The upfeed is more effective since the water tends to be diverted more easily in that direction. Filetage conique standard américain "NPT" dit "filetage Briggs". (...) Ce filetage, connu à l'origine, aux U.S.A., sous le nom de "Briggs Standard", fut établi vers 1840 par M.
