In other small machines the centrifugal force on the blades as the rotational speed rises, is made to change their pitch. The blade fixing at the hub may have a spiral socket so that the blades changes pitch as i is pulled radially outwards by this force or, alternatively, the blade spindle may be bent near the hub so that the centre of gravity of the blade lies off the axis of rotation. Pitch changing with a fly-ball governor is used in the small Winpower machines. 1, record 6, English, - pitch%20changing

The gyropilot, commonly called an automatic pilot, consists basically of three devices, each of which detects disturbances of the aircraft in one plane and corrects for these disturbances by moving the appropriate control : the rudder control for azimuth and sudden change in heading(yaw) disturbances, aileron control for roll disturbance, and elevator control for pitch disturbance. In modern gyropilots rate detection forms the principal reference and displacement detection plays a secondary role. 6, record 8, English, - automatic%20pilot

The Doppler effect on sound waves is experienced in everyday life. When an ambulance passes us, the siren appears to change its note. As it approaches, the pitch is high. As it passes us, the pitch falls. The effect occurs with any type of waves, including light. In the case of sound the effect was described by Christian Andreas Doppler(1803-1853), while for the light it was observed by Armand Fizeau(1819-1896). That's why sometimes the effect is called the Doppler-Fizeau effect. 5, record 17, English, - Doppler%20effect

... Armand Fizeau ... proved that the Doppler effect [in terms of electromagnetic phenomenon] also occurred in space. Effet Doppler.

Although some older adjustable-pitch propellers could only be adjusted on the ground, most modern adjustable-pitch propellers are designed so that you can change the propeller pitch in flight. The first adjustable-pitch propeller systems provided only two pitch settings, a low-pitch setting and a high-pitch setting. Today, however, nearly all adjustable-pitch propeller systems are capable of a range of pitch settings. 1, record 26, English, - low%2Dpitch%20setting

2, record 32, French, - perturbation%20d%27attitude%20en%20roulis

Automatically controlled two-bladed propeller.... Designated the Variostat HO-V62A, it is designed for engines up to 100HP... It is automatically protected against overspeed in all flight conditions and maintains constant speed from take-off onwards. All adjustments within the variable-pitch range can be made without the use of a control lever or selector in the cockpit. The pitch change mechanism has its own oil system.... Four adjustments are possible on the ground : fine pitch, coarse pitch, maximum rpm and rpm for reversion to fine pitch. 1, record 41, English, - automatically%20controlled%20two%2Dbladed%20propeller
