Roll Alignment. In the second phase of rapid alignment, the platform roll gimbal is controlled by the gyro roll pick-off and is damped by the roll tachometer. To position the VG [vertical gyro] roll gimbal quickly, the roll component of the liquid level, an indication of platform roll gimbal vertical error, is fed into the pitch loop. The large roll error signal drives the platform pitch gimbal torque motor causing the spring stop to press against the gyro pitch gimbal. 1, record 1, English, - roll%20alignment
