... when we talk about the line of action, it is the line connecting the initial and final points of contact in a driving gear. In the simplest of terms, when two gears mesh, the first point of contact between them, which is called the initial point and is always on the addendum circle of the driven gear, and the final point of contact, which is always on the addendum circle of the driving gear, create a line. This tangent line, which goes through the pitch point, is the line of action. 2, record 1, English, - line%20of%20action

Degree of rotation of the rifling grooves. It can be constant or progressive, i. e. tightening in pitch as it nears the muzzle. The degree of twist can be defined by : the distance for the grooves to make a complete revolution, the number of calibres for one complete revolution, or the angle between the line of the groove and the axis of the bore. The sense of the twist, i. e. right-or left-hand as viewed from the breech, should also be specified, though very few firearms use a left-hand twist. 1, record 19, English, - twist%20of%20rifling

Similarly, the output of the pilot valve to either low or high pitch is routed through the feather valve. When the valve is positioned for feathering, the pump manifold is connected directly to the high-pitch line. This isolates the propeller lines from the rest of the control system and closes off the standby pump bypass. 2, record 22, English, - increase%2Dpitch%20line

The NTS-feather valve responds to either an NTS signal [negative torque signal] or a feather signal by porting all fluid pumped by the hydraulic pumps to increase beta (blade angle) passages. Some systems allow only one format per document or per page. Other systems allow the operator to change formats and automatically call up various formats as desired.
