The quotient of the pitch at the reference surface, expressed in millimetres, divided by [pi].

CONT

Module(inch) is the ratio of the pitch diameter in inches to the number of teeth. It is the reciprocal of the diametral pitch. Module(millimeter) is the ratio of the pitch diameter in millimeters to the number of teeth. It is converted to diametral pitch by the equation : Pd=25. 4/module(millimeters).

Module may be in either inch or millimetre units. In inch units module is the reciprocal of the diametral pitch.

Connectigon and Symetrigon functions : These enable very rapid and editable construction of symmetrical shapes. A circular-saw blade for example, is made by selecting the number of teeth required, then one click for the centre, second click to position the tooth tip, and a third to position the tooth depth. Once made, the nodes can be swung about for long or short teeth, left or right pitch etc.

The back cone of a bevel or hypoid gear is an imaginary cone tangent to the outer ends of the teeth, with its elements perpendicular to those of the pitch cone. The surface of the gear blank at the outer ends of the teeth is customarily formed to such a back cone.
