The essential difference between legal and equitable rights is best understood by comparing absolute ownership with trusts....(A) t this point it is only necessary to appreciate that trusts were unenforceable at common law. If land was conveyed to A in fee simple upon trust for B in fee simple, the common law courts regarded A as absolute owner and would not recognise any rights in B. But the Chancellor would enforce trusts, as matters of conscience, and compel A to hold the land on B's behalf and to allow B to enjoy it. In such a case A is the "legal owner", B is the "equitable owner". The land is vested in A, but since he is trustee of it he is not the beneficial owner : he has only the "bare legal estate", and the beneficial interest belongs to B. Now legal ownership confers rights "in rem", rights of property in the land itself, which can be enforced against anyone. Equitable ownership conferred at first only a right "in personam", a right to compel the trustee personally to perform his trust.(Megarry & Wade, 4th ed., 1975, p. 113). 1, record 11, English, - legal%20ownership

Double-slit interference.... Young's experiment.... To explain the pattern of Figure 30. 2b, we accept the tentative hypothesis that light is a wave motion and that Huygens’ principle is applicable. Then we can understand the origin of the bright and dark lines by the following reasoning : A wave front from S reaches slits A and B. Each point on this wave front acts as a new source of Huygens’ wavelets. Since A and B are equidistant from S, the Huygens’ sources at A and B both send out crests at the same time, and half a cycle later both send out troughs. The waves from A and B arrive at the screen DF in such a way that at some points crests meet crests(Fig. 30. 2) and troughs meet troughs, thereby giving constructive interference and a bright line. At other points the troughs meet crests and crests meet troughs, resulting in destructive interference or darkness. The bright and dark bands on the screen are called interference fringes. 3, record 31, English, - trough

The Ford Special Vehicle Team was established in 1991 to "Polish the Ford Oval" by creating low-volume, factory-produced vehicles designed for those select few whose idea of driving is a high-powered, passionate experience-not just a means of getting from point A to point B. In a move to support this spirited enthusiasm, Ford Motor Company carefully integrated the wide array of talent in the company to a small, cross-functional group of engineers, product planners, and marketing people, housed together under one roof with a common mission : to create vehicles specifically designed to meet the unique needs and desires of the knowledgeable driving enthusiast. 3, record 32, English, - Special%20Vehicle%20Team

Ther term ’hodological space’ is derived from the Greek word ’hodos’, path, way. REFERENCE STAKES a. Description. Many hubs marking the location of highways, airfields, and other works of man are bound to be uprooted or covered during the progress of construction and they must be replaced, often more than once, before construction is completed. As an aid in relocating a point which may become hidden by vegetation, or as a means of replacing points which may have been destroyed, measurements are made to nearly permanent or semi-permanent objects. This process is known as referencing or witnessing a point. On many surveys, no permanent objects may be aval as witnesses. In such cases, additional stakes may be driven. These stakes are usually 2" X 2" X 18"(approx) ;and b. Placement and Marking. There is no marking on a reference stake. The MPEG standard is primarily a bitstream specification, although it also specifies a typical decoding process to assist in interpreting the bitstream specification. This approach supports data interchange, but it does not restrict creativity and innovation in the means for creating or decoding that bitstream. The bitstream architecture is based on a sequence of pictures, each of which contains the data needed to create a single displayable image. Note that the order of transmission of pictures in the data stream may not be the same as the order in which pictures will be displayed-this will be evident shortly. There are four different kinds of pictures, depending on how each picture is to be decoded : I pictures are intracoded, meaning that they are coded independent of any other picture. An I picture must exist at the start of any video stream and also at any random-access entry point in the stream. P pictures.... B pictures.... D pictures.... 1, record 49, English, - I%20picture

Let us now... consider... the symmetrical construction of a typical plywood board. 1.(a) The crossing of the grain of each adjacent veneer gives to plywood the greatest possible strength in both directions. As the number of plies are increased, the mass gains in strength until a 7-ply board, 5/8 in. thick, the resistance to bending is practically equal in both directions of the grain.(b) This cross-grained construction also obviously adds greatly to the resistance to splitting-a point of great value when we consider the placing of nails, screws or bolts close to the edge of the board.... 1, record 55, English, - resistance%20to%20splitting
