While the SFCS has a number of features and capabilities designed to vastly improve target identification and hand-off among a number of operators, its core is a muzzle velocity sensor. The system sits on the Picatinny rail of any weapon and draws on a number of acoustic sensors to characterize how the weapon is performing between the time the primer of a round is struck and the bullet leaves the barrel.... Meteorological and other sensor inputs are fed into a ballistics computation that then gives a range azimuth correction to the operator. It helps the operator correct his aim point so that his probability of hit for second, third and fourth rounds is that much more accurate. 1, record 8, English, - soldier%20fire%20control%20system

Transport correction. Much of the error due to the diffusion approximation comes from the assumption of isotopic scattering.(This assumption is necessary to reach the simple form of the integral transport [and] was also made to establish Fick's law when we assume that when a neutron leaving dV had probability d2 omega/4[ pi] of hitting dS where d2 omega was the solid angle under which dS is seen from the point of emission). The transport correction established from the differential form of the transport operator can compensate for most of this error. Because it is simple to introduce, it is always used in practice. It consists of replacing the total cross-section [sigma] with the so-called “transport” cross-section in the expression for the diffusion of the coefficient. 1, record 9, English, - %20transport%20correction

Ripple control generally refers to systems that are applied to electrical networks for demand side management purposes. They offer a means of communication from a central point to any point on the LV [Low-Voltage] network for action at end-users’ premises. Ripple control is mainly dedicated to mass applications but individual and specific applications can also be addressed. Applications are easily programmed by the operator in control consoles and receivers(Stand-alone receivers beside the meter or receiver integrated into electronic meters). 3, record 12, English, - ripple%20control

Ripple control is a well proven technology since many decades to control consumers in the whole grid for load optimization. This will be done switching on/off e.g. storage heatings, direct controlled heatings, etc. as well as tariff switching, monthly demand reset in electricity meters, and the control of other consumers like street lighting, etc. The components of a ripple control (RC) system are the load control centre, installed in the utility control level, which controls all connected substations. There are installed the RC transmitters with the couplings, which inject the RC signals into the grids, and in the grids there are RC receivers at the consumers site, which execute the transmitted commands. 2, record 12, English, - ripple%20control

In addition, the system may have a means of quickly removing the filter housings, enabling the operator to effect an element change under a fume hood, or the system may be of a size that the entire system may be disconnected from the pump and transported to the fume hood. 1, record 20, English, - oil%20filtration%20system

Cable-Reel Shuttle Cars... were introduced in 1939, the year following the first(battery) shuttle car. Practically all present shuttle cars are powered through cable reels. Reels usually hold 500 ft of cable and, therefore, the maximum haul distance should be kept under 400 ft whenever possible. Cable-reel cars are either standard-hand or opposite-standard-hand models. Standard-hand control means that the seats for the operator, together with the controls, are located on the left front or discharge end of the car similar to the operator's position in an American car or truck. An opposite-hand-control car would have the operator sitting on the right-hand side of the car facing forward when traveling to the discharge point. The cable reel always is located on the side opposite the operator. 1, record 27, English, - cable%2Dreel%20shuttle%2Dcar

Frequently, fluid clutches are used to drive equipment. In these instances, the sheaves mounted on a coupling can drive a zero speed switch indicator through a V-belt drive. This would warn the operator if the machine speed should fall below a given point. 1, record 31, English, - zero%20speed%20switch%20indicator

1, record 31, French, - voyant%20d%27avertissement%20de%20bas%20r%C3%A9gime
