Parking is a universal pain point for drivers. People are frustrated and stressed during the search for a vacant parking area, with city drivers spending 30% of their time looking for spaces.... Taking public transportation, such as buses and the metro, can help reduce parking-related congestion and air pollution. Nonetheless, private vehicles are still used for convenience. To reduce carbon emissions, we could replace all fuel-consuming vehicles with electric ones. Congestion would still be caused by the cruising of a vehicle to find a vacant parking space, even if we used electric vehicles. 3, record 1, English, - parking%20congestion

Simulated annealing is a method for solving unconstrained and bound-constrained optimization problems. The method models the physical process of heating a material and then slowly lowering the temperature to decrease defects, thus minimizing the system energy. At each iteration of the simulated annealing algorithm, a new point is randomly generated. The distance of the new point from the current point, or the extent of the search, is based on a probability distribution with a scale proportional to the temperature. 1, record 2, English, - simulated%20annealing%20algorithm

1, record 20, French, - recherches%20par%20mesure%20de%20l%27intensit%C3%A9%20du%20signal

The propensity, often unconscious, to search for, assemble, present, or use evidence in such a manner as to point to a preselected endproduct or conclusion. Bias does not of necessity lead to error, since it may be anticipated and allowed for by employing adjusting or weighting devices, or ostensibly inaccurate results may be interpreted or cross-checked in a variety of ways. 2, record 28, English, - bias
Record number: 28, Textual support number: 1 OBS
It is possible to extract evidence and synthesize an objective and valid picture even when employing biased or potentially biased sources of information. A principal objective in the process of auditing is the search for and correction of biases. An auditor determines the presence or lack of bias in a group of accounts receivable by circularizing persons against whom claims are held. Offsetting biases are regularly taken advantage of in the construction of "internal controls". By the operation of a normally patterned system of "internal check", valid results are deemed to follow by placing individuals with independent, opposing interests in opposition to each other and making them participants in the recording of the same transaction. The assumption underlying any such device is that the offsetting biases are of the same relative order of magnitude. 2, record 28, English, - bias

An initial guess is required to start the search. However, if a random trial is closer to the maximum/minimum, another step in the same direction is taken, and if this is a better point, another step in the same direction is selected until no further improvement occurs. A modification of the random search which uses a nonuniform distribution from which the sample points are selected as the search continues. The initial point is chosen by making a guess, and a nonuniform probability density function is centered on this guess. The consequent samples are then chosen from this distribution, and a cluster of measurements is created. The best of this initial set of samples is then used as the center of a new set of measurements where the same kind of distribution but with a small variance is used to generate a cluster of points. This process is repeated until the search specifications are satisfied. Thus, the search "creeps" toward the maximum(or minimum). 1, record 37, English, - creeping%20random%20search%20procedure
