We have generally found that irradiated merrotitre plates have a greater capacity than non-irradiated plates to bind allergen or whole cells. Once bound, the allergen can become detached from the plate and this is particularly critical if it occurs during the assay... One solution to this problem is to link the antigen to the plate via an antibody in a sandwich ELISA(SELISA). Polyclonal rabbit and mouse monoclonal antibodies have been used to bind allergens to microtiter plates. 1, record 6, English, - sandwich%20enzyme%2Dlinked%20immunosorbent%20assay

A recently developed technology called epitope scanning permits the rapid and accurate delineation of continuous stretches of amino acids in a protein which constitute the sequential epitopes recognised by an antiserum raised to that protein. In the present report, we describe the use of this technique to identify the epitopes in the recombinant bovine growth-hormone(rbGH) molecule recognised by three polyclonal guinea-pig antisera and two polyclonal rabbit antisera. The results obtained show that, for guinea-pig antisera, 3 or 4, very-well-defined major continuous epitopes are present. 2, record 11, English, - recombinant%20bovine%20growth%20hormone
