Hydrargyrum medium-arc iodide, or HMI®, is a mercury-halide gas discharge medium arc-length lamp with a multi-line spectra emission. The name implies that hydrargyrum, an archaic term for Mercury (Hg), is held as a vapour mixed with other rare halides in a quartz-glass envelope with two tungsten-coated electrodes of medium arc separation. Unlike traditional tungsten lighting units, HMI(R)s use ballasts to regulate and supply electricity to the lamp head via a header cable. The lamp operates not by heating a tungsten-based filament, but rather by creating an electrical arc between two electrodes within the bulb that excites the pressurized mercury vapour and provides phenomenal light output with greater efficiency than tungsten-based lighting units.

Although both substances contain Polyol, Instapak Chemical B differs from FSP in the following ways :(i) Different molecular weight of Polyol.(ii) Different chemical additives.(iii) Unique reactivity with Instapak Chemical A.... Instapak Chemical B and FSP are not directly competitive articles because it has a unique end use. It is used only to produce protective foam in-house to package items such as defence electronics, avionics, computer peripherals, aircraft parts etc. and not for mattresses or flexible slabstock.

Foaming. ... Compounding of the ingredients of a foam formulation is generally carried out in either of two ways: the "one-shot" or the "partial prepolymer" method. ... In the partial prepolymer method all the isocyanate is reacted first with part of the polyol; this intermediate is referred to as the A component. The remainder of the polyol, containing the catalyst, blowing agent, and other ingredients, forms the B component. The two components are supplied in separate containers and constitute a two-part prefoam mixture system that requires good agitation for blending and foaming.

Le polystyrène. Cet isolant en panneaux de mousse plastique est disponible en deux catégories - extrudé (PSX) ou expansé (PSE) et en quatre types (I à IV). Le type I a la plus faible résistance thermique et la plus grande perméabilité à la vapeur d'eau et à l'absorption d'eau; le type IV, la plus haute résistance thermique et la plus faible perméabilité. Les panneaux extrudés sont faits de polystyrène, de solvants et de gaz pressurisé. On note qu'avec le temps, les agents gonflants (HCFC rongeant moins la couche d'ozone que le CFC), le styrène et le chlorure d'éthylène, sont lentement libérés dans l'air ambiant. Flexible polyurethane foam has been in existence since the mid-1950s. Because of its performance characteristics it has a wide variety of uses.... It serves as cushioning in upholstered furniture and mattresses. It protects carpet by providing a resilient underlay. Automobile and airplane seats contain foam. Packaging and medical applications are also common. Flexible polyurethane foam is the product of an exothermic reaction that creates a resilient cellular matrix that can then be cut to size for its intended use. Since the late 1950's, auxiliary blowing agents have been used in the manufacture of polyurethane foam. Two main characteristics of flexible foam are density and firmness(or softness). Auxiliary blowing agents help control both of these characteristics. By vaporizing at an appropriate temperature, the auxiliary blowing agent produces additional bubble growth and, thereby, reduces the density of the foam.
