There is an alternative between closed-and open-loop systems called standing column wells(SCWs). In a SCW, groundwater is pumped from the base of a deep well and directed to a heat exchanger.... A SCW consists of a long borehole mostly drilled in the bedrock and filled with groundwater... Typical installations use a PVC [polyvinyl chloride] pipe almost as long as the well within which a submersible pump is installed. In a conventional SCW, groundwater is pumped at the bottom of the well through a PVC pipe and returned below the dynamic level in the annular space of the borehole via a rejection pipe.... Before reinjecting the groundwater into the SCW, part of the flow rate can be diverted into a separate injection well. This process is called "bleed" and improves the system performance by attracting water from the undisturbed neighbouring ground through aquifer fractures. The bleed induces heat transfer by advection..., which improves significantly the thermal efficiency of the SCW. 2, record 1, English, - standing%20column%20well

3, record 1, French, - puits%20%C3%A0%20colonne%20permanente

The air charger system uses a quiet oiless air compressor to put large amounts of oxygen into the retention tank.... The oxygen [is] forced to the bottom of the tank through a PVC [polyvinyl chloride] pipe... Once the air is expelled it... mixes with the iron and manganese for proper oxidation. The water then flows to a properly sized multi media filter which will remove all oxidized iron and manganese. The air charger system also is effective in the removal of hydrogen sulfide gas. 3, record 2, English, - air%20charger

Plastic pipes. Plastic used for pipe include Saran, Tenite, Plastitube, and polyvinyl chloride. The materials are useful for water-supply pipes and for the conveyance of some corrosive liquids at a moderate temperature and pressure... Among the advantage claimed for plastics... may be included freedom from corrosion, freedom from damage due to freezing of water in a closed pipe, acid resistance for solutions up to about 10 per cent concentration, light weight..., easy bending and joining, and adequate strength. 2, record 3, English, - plastic%20pipe

Some plumbing codes require that all ABS pipe and fittings be "black" and all PVC [polyvinyl chloride] pipe and fittings be "grey" in colour. This is so that the material can be quickly identified by sight. ABS pipe will support combustion, and while PVC will burn, it will extinguish itself if a supporting flame is removed. Both ABS and PVC piping is well suited for DWV [drainage, waste and vent] installations as permitted by the plumbing code. 3, record 4, English, - ABS%20pipe

3, record 4, French, - tuyau%20en%20acrylonitrile%2Dbutadi%C3%A8ne%2Dstyr%C3%A8ne
