The best known operational demand-assignment multiple-access(DAMA) system is called SPADE(Single-channel per carrier PCM Multiple-Access Demand-Assignment Equipment).... SPADE increased the traffic handling capabilities of INTELSAT satellites and made the establishment of new small capacity links more economical.... In the SPADE system a specific satellite radio-frequency band is divided on the basis of assigning a single data or PCM converted voice channel per RF carrier.... Le système SPADE. Introduit par INTELSAT dans un réseau vers 1971, c'est le premier système à porteuses monovoies utilisant un répéteur de 36MHz de couverture globale d'un satellite d'INTELSAT (tels ceux de satellites INTELSAT IV, IV-A et V). La bande du répéteur est divisée en 800 canaux de 45 kHz chacun constituant une réserve commune de fréquences utilisables à la demande par n'importe quelle station du réseau.
