The purpose of this fund, administered by Justice Canada, is to provide, through a newly created pool of operating monies, encouragement and assistance to departments in managing disputes effectively, with innovation and without resorting to litigation; and to assist departments in their transition to doing business differently, as they are called upon to be responsible for the payment of both settlement amounts and court judgements.
