The Union for African Population Studies(UAPS) is a pan-African nonprofit scientific organization that was founded through the initiative of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa(UNECA) in March 1984, with a view to promoting the scientific study of population in Africa. With a network that includes more than 1, 000 members from Africa and beyond, UAPS aims to foster the networking of scientists, policy makers and other stakeholders in population and development in order to improve research capacity and promote evidence based population policies and programmes in Africa.

L'Union pour l'étude de la population africaine est une organisation scientifique panafricaine à but non lucratif. Créé à l'initiative de la Commission Économique pour l'Afrique des Nations Unies en mars 1984, elle vise à promouvoir l'étude scientifique de population en Afrique. Avec un réseau de plus 1000 chercheurs d'Afrique et d'ailleurs, l'UEPA a pour objectif de favoriser la mise en réseau des scientifiques, des décisionnaires, et des autres acteurs de population et de développement en vue d'améliorer la capacité de recherche et promouvoir de politiques et des programmes ancrées dans la preuve en Afrique.
