Synthetic gene drives are a new form of genetic engineering that overcomes the normal rules of inheritance, and which may allow the deliberate eradication or modification of species and populations in the wild. Gene drives distort the process of inheritance so that the probability of particular genes—and thus specific traits—being passed on is increased substantially above the usual 50%(known as the Mendelian rule of inheritance). Over the course of several generations, genes with higher inheritance rates will rapidly spread through a breeding population... Thus, in theory at least, a gene drive can be employed to force genetic changes into an entire population. 4, record 1, English, - synthetic%20gene%20drive

gene drive: In English, a differentiation is sometimes made between a synthetic gene drive, a bioengineered process, and a natural gene drive, a natural process of inheritance. Consequently, it may be preferable to use the designations "synthetic gene drive" and "engineered gene drive" when referring to the bioengineered process. 5, record 1, English, - synthetic%20gene%20drive

4, record 1, French, - for%C3%A7age%20g%C3%A9n%C3%A9tique

[The authors] describe a method for generating an artificial society consisting of three parts : a population, an environment, and a set of rules. Their society is agent-based and micro-level, but the agents are only identified by a small number of attributes, so they lack personality and other believable properties. The agents are not networked together from the generation phase, but the set of rules [governs] the agents’ behaviours and interactions with one another in a cellular automata approach, allowing them to bond and form relationships at runtime... 1, record 2, English, - artificial%20society

The The Settlements Earth Observation Inventory(SEOI) … is an inventory of geographic information and codes based on an overlay and analysis of the blocks in comparison to satellite imagery. The analysis of the SEOI led to the concepts and threshold-setting for rules related to population, employed labour force(ELF) and dwelling densities, as well as buffers. A ‘buffer’ is a zone around a block or cluster of blocks; for example, a block cluster with a buffer of 1 km would involve a zone 1 km wide around the periphery of the block cluster boundary. 2, record 4, English, - cluster%20boundary

2, record 4, French, - limite%20de%20grappe
