POPULATION WAVE [6 records]

Record 1 2017-04-13

English

Subject field(s)
  • Symptoms (Medicine)
  • The Heart
CONT

The PR interval of the surface electrocardiogram(ECG) is measured from the onset of atrial depolarization(P wave) to the beginning of ventricular depolarization(QRS complex). In the adult population, normal PR interval ranges from 0. 12-0. 20 seconds at normal heart rates. First-degree atrioventricular(AV) block is defined as a PR interval exceeding 0. 20 seconds.

OBS

The PR interval is the time (in seconds) from the beginning of the P wave (onset of atrial depolarization) to the beginning of the QRS complex (onset of ventricular depolarization).

DEF

CONT

In February 1983 a wave of death swept through the Caribbean, virtually obliterating the populations of Diadema antillarum-a spiny sea urchin-that thrived there. The cause of this massive 95 to 99% population crash is still a mystery, although some form of bacterial infection is strongly suspected.

OBS

Exhibition of the Canadian Museum of Civilization. "Created by two waves of immigration that ended more than 30 years ago, Canada's Italian community has reached an important moment in its history. While the immigrants who came during the first migratory wave(1880 to the late 1920s) have already disappeared, those who arrived during the second wave(1947 to the late 1960s) are an increasingly ageing population. As their numbers gradually decrease in the coming years, the last living witnesses of the multiple peasant cultures from which most Italian-Canadians descended will disappear as well. The exhibition offers the visitor a new look at these cultures that are too often relegated to the past. "

OBS

Perhaps one of the best known industry-sponsored environmental monitoring programmes is that of British Petroleum. It involves the use of population and community indices for the intertidal benthic communities on the basis of the degree of wave exposure, it is possible to predict the community profile which would normally be expected to occur with a given exposure.

CONT

Perhaps one of the best known industry-sponsored environmental monitoring programmes is that of British Petroleum. It involves the use of population and community indices for the intertidal zone of rocky shores. Through a process of characterizing intertidal benthic communities on the basis of the degree of wave exposure, it is possible to predict the community profile which would normally be expected to occur with a given exposure.
