During the hydraulic fracturing process, some of the fracturing fluid may leave the fracture and enter the targeted formation adjacent to the created fracture(i. e. untreated formation). This phenomenon is known as fluid leak-off. The fluid flows into the micropore or pore spaces of the formation or into existing natural fractures in the formation or into small fractures opened and propagated into the formation by the pressure in the induced fracture. 7, record 1, English, - fracture%20fluid%20leak%2Doff

Another soil process, which is of importance to subsea pipeline engineering, is dynamic liquefaction caused either due to the passing of individual(steep) waves or due to a gradual build-up of pore pressure in the soil due to repeated cyclical forcing, such as wave motion. As a consequence of liquefaction the soil loses its bearing capacity. Hence, a negatively buoyant pipe will sink into the seabed, but what is usually worse is that a buoyant pipe can work its way out of the seabed with potentially hazardous consequences. Although dynamic liquefaction has been studied for more than 20 years, we are still some ways from formulating clear design rules, partially because it is still not clear how important this effect is in the field; the evidence is contradictory. 1, record 7, English, - dynamic%20liquefaction

3, record 8, French, - fracture%20naturelle

The production of hydrocarbon reservoirs, the exploitation of hydrothermal fields and mining activity in general are associated with microseismicity. Changes of the local stress fields and pore pressure can initiate sudden movements along existing faults or can generate new fractures which in turn result in the emission of seismic energy. Monitoring and analyses of microseismic events have the potential to delineate the internal structure of the subsurface, to obtain information on the present stress conditions and to image dynamic processes like subsidence and fluid flow. 3, record 9, English, - microseismic%20monitoring

Gas Hydrate is an ice-like crystalline solid formed from a mixture of water and natural gas, usually methane. They occur in the pore spaces of sediments, and may form cements, nodes or layers.... Gas Hydrate is found in sub-oceanic sediments in the polar regions(shallow water) and in continental slope sediments(deep water), where pressure and temperature conditions combine to make it stable.... Natural Gas Hydrate contains highly concentrated methane, which is important both as an energy resource and as a factor in global climate change. 2, record 12, English, - gas%20hydrate

3, record 14, French, - tension%20capillaire
