Barge carriers are a variant of the container ship. Standard barges are carried into which the cargo has been previously loaded. The barges, once unloaded, are towed away by tugs and return cargo barges are loaded. Minimal or even no port facilities are required, and the system is well suited to countries with extensive inland waterways. 4, record 1, English, - barge%20carrier

Increasingly, organized crime syndicates have been turning to the "rip-on/rip-off" concealment method which involves the exploitation of shipping containers to traffic illicit drugs around the world. As cargo moves from the country of origin to the country of destination, insiders at each port(such as corrupt port workers) tamper with legal shipments. The key to their success depends on access to the location of a specific container, insider knowledge of the port environment and the ability to coordinate insider threats at both ends of the transport supply chain. 1, record 2, English, - rip%2Don%2Frip%2Doff%20concealment%20method

Since 1998, CISC has reported on the presence of organized crime at several of Canada's marine ports, particularly the three major marine container ports of Vancouver, Montreal and Halifax. This organized crime presence at the ports facilitates the movement of all types of contraband into and out of the country. There are numerous other marine ports in Canada with various levels of ports facilities and cargo volume capability. Each are potential targets for organized crime penetration, vulnerable to either infiltration by crime groups and/or corruption of current port employees. 3, record 5, English, - organized%20crime%20penetration

The fire extinguishing equipment for an airliner such as the Douglas DC-10 incorporates three systems with six pressurized agent containers, two for each engine. The containers for the wing-mounted engines are located in pairs in the leading edge of the wing between the nacelle and the fuselage on each side of the aircraft.... The discharge cartridge is an electrically fired explosive unit that provides force to rupture the disk seal in the outlet port of the container and release the extinguishing agent to the deployment lines. One discharge cartridge is installed on each wing-mounted container and two are installed on the aft-engine container. The discharge cartridge contains two squibs(explosive charges) that are fired by an electric circuit that heats the powder to the ignition point. When the fire extinguisher control handle is pulled down, the electric circuit is closed and the squibs are fired. The force of the explosion ruptures the disk seal, thus releasing the extinguishing agent. A screen in the discharge head prevents particles of the disk from entering the deployment line. 2, record 9, English, - fire%20control%20handle

3, record 12, French, - zone%20portuaire

A filling technique in which a container is filled to a predetermined level. The volume of fluid in the container is determined by the internal volume of the container. 3, record 16, English, - pure%20gravity
Record number: 16, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The internal volume of a round sanitary can or a plastic bottle is more accurate than a glass container.... Product from a supply tank flows through a spring-loaded filling valve opened by the container being present. Flow is by gravity into the sealed container, with air in the container escaping through a vent tube above the product level in the supply tank. Flow stops and a fill level is established when the rising liquid reaches the air vent port. 1, record 16, English, - pure%20gravity

3, record 16, French, - gravit%C3%A9%20simple

A liquid filling technique by which containers are filled in a low vacuum atmosphere. 3, record 17, English, - gravity%20vacuum
Record number: 17, Textual support number: 1 OBS
It requires a seal on the container and fills the container(usually a bottle) to a predetermined level. The purpose of the low vacuum atmosphere is first to eliminate overflow and recirculation which are inherent in a pure vacuum filler, and to avoid filling a cracked or chipped-neck bottle. If a vacuum is not established in container, it will not fill; also prevents drip.... As in a gravity filler, level is established in the bottle when the vent port through which the air in the bottle escapes, is closed by the rising liquid. 1, record 17, English, - gravity%20vacuum

2, record 17, French, - gravit%C3%A9%20vide
Record number: 17, Textual support number: 1 CONT
3, record 17, French, - gravit%C3%A9%20vide
