The System uses a constellation of satellites placed in orbit at an altitude of 20, 178 km. They complete their circular orbits in half a sidereal day, that is 11 hr 57 min. These satellites emit two sets of signals on 1, 227MHz [megahertz] and 1, 575 MHz in the L-band. These signals carry the transmitting satellites’ identification and position, as well as the time and other information. The airborne equipment is entirely passive. It consists of a receiver whose position is determined by measuring its distance from four of the system's satellites. 9, record 2, English, - Navigation%20Satellite%20Timing%20and%20Ranging%20Global%20Positioning%20System

It physically separates the P6 solar arrays from the P4 solar arrays when the P6 is located in its permanent position, and it will provide temporary cooling to the US laboratory Destiny when it arrives at the ISS [International Space Station] in 2001. Automatic Calibration of Transducers for Gimballed Inertial Navigation System on Uncontrolled Gyros. In the work a new approach to calibration of gimbaled Inertial Navigation system(INS) based on two electrostatically suspended gyros(ESG) is considered. The automatic calibration procedure of the inertial measuring unit(IMU) error models parameters, namely, the gimbal pick-off errors, is examined. The measurement errors for angle rotor position are described by equation. The gimbal pick-off errors are described by equation. The British device is described officially as a Laser True Airspeed System(LATAS) ;it might be more accurate to call it a "potential" or "future" airspeed measuring system, since its function is to advise the pilot what his airspeed will be when he traverses a zone located a short distance ahead of his current position at any given moment. Normally this distance is in the 500-600 m range, far enough ahead at normal approach speeds of 360-450 km/h(200-250kn) to give the pilot some four to six seconds warning to recognize an impending change in true airspeed [due to turbulence] and to take any necessary corrective action. 1, record 7, English, - Laser%20True%20Airspeed%20System

1, record 7, French, - syst%C3%A8me%20laser%20de%20mesure%20de%20la%20vitesse%20propre
