Weighing gauges are most useful in areas with frequent snow, since they measure any form of precipitation simply by weighing on a balance whatever falls into a pail. The downward motion of the pail as it fills with precipitation is transmitted to a recording chart on a clock-turned drum. Many of these gauges are equipped with a funnel which can be removed to permit the snow to fall directly into the pail. If accuracy of the snowfall measurements is important, the gauge should, of course, be shielded.

CONT

The two types of automatic rain gages used in the County are weighing buckets and tipping buckets. Most of the rainfall records in the County are collected with weighing bucket gages. A weighing bucket consists of a collection bucket for receiving and storing the precipitation, a weighing device for measurement, and an indicating dial to display, in inches, precipitation gathered by the collector. The weighing bucket mechanically converts the depth of accumulated precipitation during a given period(5 or 15 minutes), to a code disk position. This code disk position is recorded on punched paper tape at the selected intervals.

Is the HSB a special case? Is it possible to generalise the analysis of the HSB movement and to extend it to other organisations, or is this housing co-operative federation a very special case? It is the contention of this paper that the results are of general interest and with relevance for a wide range of organisations, especially those within the non-profit and voluntary sectors. Of course, it is not possible to, within the limits of this paper, to prove this. However, some indications in favour of this position will be put forward. This circumstantial evidence concern three other Swedish organisations-one a formally non-profit building company, one fund which collects money in order to support research for a cure against cancer, the third being the Union for asthmatics and allergics.

In-mould labeling(IML) is a relatively recent addition to the category of predecoration that is available for blow-molded plastic bottles.... The basic in-mold label system utilizes a paper label that has a heat-activated coating on the back side. The label is placed in the mold at the beginning of the blow-molding cycle before the mold closes around the parison.... The label is held in position by vacuum ports. When the parison of plastic is extruded and the molds close and air is injected to inflate the parison, the heat from the parison activates the label adhesive coating. During the mold-close cycle, the combination of the high inject air pressure and the cold-mold surface causes the adhesive to set and the label to adhere to the bottle surface in a heat-seal fashion.
