The [Canadian Active Control] system consists of unattended tracking stations, referred to as Active Control Points(ACPs), which continuously record carrier phase and pseudo-range measurements for all satellites of the Global Positioning System(GPS) within station view. Each ACP is equipped with a high precision dual frequency GPS receiver and an atomic frequency standard. Temperature, pressure and humidity data are also collected at selected ACP sites. The data collected at each ACP is retrieved on a daily basis by a central processing facility in Ottawa. 2, record 1, English, - active%20control%20point

The main technologies for the assembly of nanodevices through nanomanipulations with scanning probe microscopes and nanorobotic manipulators are overviewed, focusing on that of nanotubes. Key techniques for nanoassembly include the preparation of nano building blocks and property characterization of them, the positioning of the building blocks with nanometer-scale resolution, and the connection of them. Nanorobotic manipulations, which are characterized by multiple degrees of freedom(DOFs) with both position and orientation control, independently actuated multiprobes, and a real-time observation system, are one of the most promising technologies for assembling complex nanodevices in three-dimensional space. 2, record 3, English, - nanoassembly

The SIHS [Soldier's Integrated Headwear System] headborne system should be designed with warfighting in mind; predominantly for high tempo operations... The highest priority system capability for the headborne system is protection. Chief among these is protection against high and low velocity fragments [and] blast... Similarly, blast and impulse noise injury to the ears has been identified as important from both a protection and a command and control perspective. The future headborne system also needs to integrate CB [chemical and biological] protection for skin and respiration [and needs to include GPS [global positioning system] and radio antennae on the helmet, as well as any combat [identification] detector technology. For camouflage,... temperate and hot environments [are] important and... any future system [needs] to manage light, noise and thermal emissions to avoid detection by the enemy.... Compatibility with weapons, CB protective equipment, and corrective vision spectacles were seen to be essential for the dismounted rifleman role. 3, record 5, English, - headborne%20system

The planimetric accuracy of the orthoimages depends on control data, the digital elevation model(DEM), and the methodology used to extract the positions of the control points on the image. The best sources of control data currently available in Canada were used to generate the orthoimages. A number of control sources were used to correct the Landsat 7 images, namely provincial vector data, roads resulting from the global positioning system(GPS), data from the National Topographic Data Base(NTBD), and geometrically corrected aerial photography(orthophotos). The control points extracted from the sources generally represent road intersections and centres of mass of lakes or islands. Different DEMs also served in generating these orthoimages; provincial DEMs and Canadian Digital Elevation Data(CDED) at the 1 : 50 000 and the 1 : 250 000 scales. Planimetric accuracy is obtained by analyzing the parameters of the geometric correction model(SRIT), the accuracy of the source data used to correct the image, and DEM accuracy. 2, record 11, English, - planimetric%20accuracy

2, record 12, French, - navigation%20par%20satellite%20europ%C3%A9en

The use of a combined reference station DGPS [Differential Global Positioning System] position solution is now widely used. This essentially utilizes differential corrections from a number of reference stations, which are combined in either the position, adjustment, or correction domain to give an overall solution. The precision of the position fix is not necessarily improved from the DGPS solution, however, multiple reference station solutions provide a more stable position fix, improved quality control, and reliability measures. 3, record 13, English, - position%20fix
