Recall now the crude Quantity Theory, which held that prices must always be proportional to the amount of money-so that doubling M [the Money supply] must exactly double P [the price level]. For many situations in the real word-with its sticky prices, booms, recessions, and thousands of changes always going on to confound the experiment-we saw that the crude Quantity Theory was not a good predicting device.... the crude Quantity Theory... has a degree of predictive value during galloping inflations and over certain long time intervals. 1, record 1, English, - crude%20Quantity%20Theory

Ecological principles and ecological concepts refer to basic truths, theories, or working hypotheses about the relationships of organisms or groups of organisms with their environment. In the report, principle is used in the positive sense, concerned with scientific concepts, rather than in the normative sense which is concerned with moral or ethical value judgements. Such positive principles or ecological concepts may range from general statements that are basic to the science of ecology, to detailed principles as developed within specialized scientific disciplines. 1, record 2, English, - ecological%20concept

Ecological Concepts : Many assessments have ignored several principles of ecological theory such as nutrient cycling, energy flow, primary productivity, eutrophication, succession, assimilative capacity, and a host of others.

2, record 2, Spanish, - concepto%20ecol%C3%B3gico

Ecological Concepts. Many assessments have ignored several principles of ecological theory such as nutrient cycling, energy flow, primary productivity, eutrophication, succession, assimilative capacity, and a host of others. Studies are not normally undertaken to elucidate these concepts, nor do they serve as predictive frameworks for assessments. A notable exception is the Peace-Athabasca Delta Project which incorporated a two-year research programme aimed at predicting effects on faunal populations through knowledge of the successional patterns of vegetation communities following a lowering of surface and ground water levels. Another example is the South Davis Strait Project in which an attempt was made to understand the variability of the annual phytoplankton bloom and its importance in sustaining secondary productivity throughout the remainder of the year. 1, record 4, English, - predictive%20framework

1, record 4, French, - cadre%20pr%C3%A9visionnel
