Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Earthmoving. This includes excavation and the placement of earth fill. Excavation follows preparation of the site, and is performed when the existing grade must be brought down to a new elevation. 6, record 1, English, - earthwork
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
General excavation consists of the primary operations of earth excavation, rock excavation, backfill, and embankment construction; it also includes the transportation of earth materials, the stabilization of earth banks, and the control of ground water. 4, record 1, English, - earthwork
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
General excavation is the term quite generally applied to the moving of portions of the earth’s crust for construction purposes. Other terms, such as earthmoving, may or may not mean the same thing. Confusion arises from the dual use of the word "earth" to refer, on the one hand, to the sphere on which we live, and on the other hand to that portion of the earth’s crust often termed "dirt," but now more frequently termed "soil." 4, record 1, English, - earthwork

Because of the importance of standard samples, great care is taken in their preparation. Quantities of grain sufficient to prepare standard samples of each grade are obtained from primary elevators and from rail cars unloading at terminal elevators. About 50 tonnes are collected and sent annually to the Commission's Inspection Division. The samples are representative of the major grading factors peculiar to that crop and of a cross-section of all production areas. The term "standard" in the Canadian grading system, means minimum quality. 1, record 2, English, - minimum%20quality

1, record 2, French, - qualit%C3%A9%20minimale
