By resolution 827(1993) of 25 May 1993, the Security Council established the ICTY for the sole purpose of prosecuting persons responsible for serious violations of international humanitarian law committed in the territory of the former Yugoslavia during its breakup and subsequent conflicts. By resolution 2329(2016), the Council extended the terms of office of the President and the judges of the ICTY and reappointed the Prosecutor for the last time. On 31 December 2017, the Council issued a press statement marking the closure of the ICTY on the same date.

Formed in the 1960s, the Mujahedin-e-Khalq(MEK) is an Iranian terrorist organization based mostly in Iraq, where it received financial support from Saddam Hussein's regime. MEK's principal objective is the overthrow of the existing Iranian regime to replace it with a democratic and secular government. MEK plans to install the National Council of Resistance of Iran(NCRI), a political coalition of Iranian opposition groups affiliated with MEK, as interim administration and leader Maryam Rajavi as president. To achieve their objectives, MEK's past activities have included assassinations, armed attacks, hostage-taking, mortar attacks and hit-and-run raids against government and military personnel and infrastructure.

The Iraqi Revolutionary Command Council was established after the military coup in 1968, and was the ultimate decision making body in Iraq before the 2003 American-led invasion. It exercised both executive and legislative authority in the country, with the Chairman and Vice Chairman chosen by a two-thirds majority of the council. The VSI [Voluntary Sector Initiative] is being co-managed by members of the voluntary sector and the federal government. A new secretariat created by the Voluntary Sector Roundtable [VSR] is responsible for coordinating the sector's participation in this endeavor. The Constitution of the Fourth Republic created... the French Union, comprising metropolitan France and the Overseas Departments and Territories on the one hand, and on the other the Associated Territories and States, each of which defined its relationship with France in a particular manner. The organs of the Union were : the Presidency, occupied ex officio by the President of the French Republic; the High Council, presided over by the President and composed of delegates from France and each Associated State, whose function was to assist the government in the general conduct of the affairs of the Union; and an Assembly composed half of representatives of metropolitan France and half of members representing the Overseas Departments and Territories and the Associated States, these being elected by the respective Assemblies.
