RADIO BATTERY [13 records]

Record 1 2013-12-11

English

Subject field(s)
  • Radio Transmission and Reception
DEF

A type of RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) tag containing a battery that operates the circuitry of the microchip, but must draw power from the magnetic field created by the reader in order to communicate with the reader via radio waves.

CONT

Traditional Passive RFID [radio frequency identification] Tags rely on gathering energy from the RFID Reader's signal to wake up the integrated circuit(IC) and provide the backscatter required for identification. BAP RFID tags contain their own integrated power source, which is most commonly a battery. It's very important not to confuse BAP tags with Active RFID Tags. Active tags transmit a beacon at a defined interval. BAP tags do not transmit. The range is improved because no energy needs to be harvested from the RFID Reader to power the integrated circuit and all of the captured energy can be used for backscatter.

Key term(s)
  • BAP radio frequency identification tag
  • battery-assisted radio-frequency identification tag
  • semi-active radio frequency identification tag

DEF

Subject field(s)
  • Radio Transmission and Reception
CONT

An RFID [radio frequency identification] tag is an active tag when it is equipped with a battery that can be used as a partial or complete source of power for the tag's circuitry and antenna. Some active tags contain replaceable batteries for years of use; others are sealed units.

DEF

Radio-identifiant qui possède sa propre source d'énergie, généralement une pile ou un accumulateur, lui permettant d'émettre un signal et éventuellement d'enregistrer ou de traiter des informations.

Record 3 2013-10-07

English

Subject field(s)
  • Radio Transmission and Reception
CONT

A passive tag is an RFID [radio frequency identification] tag that does not contain a battery; the power is supplied by the reader. When radio waves from the reader are encountered by a passive rfid tag, the coiled antenna within the tag forms a magnetic field. The tag draws power from it, energizing the circuits in the tag. The tag then sends the information encoded in the tag's memory.

Key term(s)
  • passive radio frequency identification tag

French

Domaine(s)
  • Émission et réception radio
DEF

Radio-identifiant qui utilise l'énergie des ondes radioélectriques émises par un lecteur pour transmettre des informations à ce lecteur.

OBS

DEF

A periodic turning off of non-essential components within an RF [radio frequency] tag as a means of reducing power demands on the battery.

OBS

DEF

An RFID [radio frequency identification] device which reflects and modulates a carrier signal received from an interrogator.

CONT

A passive tag is an RFID tag that does not contain a battery; the power is supplied by the reader. When radio waves from the reader are encountered by a passive [RFID] tag, the coiled antenna within the tag forms a magnetic field. The tag draws power from it, energizing the circuits in the tag.

OBS

French

Domaine(s)
  • Émission et réception radio
  • Télédétection
DEF

CONT

The ignition switch does several jobs. It turns the ignition system on and off. It a has a START position for operating the starting motor. It operates the steering-wheel lock, and an audible or light signal if the ignition key is in the ignition lock when a door opens or if seat belts are not buckled. In many vehicles, the electric fuel pump connects to the battery through the ignition switch. Other accessories such as the radio and heater blower motor also receive power through ignition switch.
