Quick Facts : Work on the Lakeshore East Line is part of a larger, system-wide plan to improve overall GO Transit service, including the delivery of GO Regional Express Rail by 2024-25. To support transit improvements, Metrolinx will be undertaking major infrastructure upgrades, including additional track, GO station modifications, improved rail crossings, required systems for electrification, and new locomotives and train control systems to enable more frequent service. The province is investing $21. 3 billion to transform the GO rail network from a commuter transit system to a regional rapid transit system. The project is being delivered as a build finance(BF) contract using Infrastructure Ontario's Alternative Financing and Procurement(AFP) model, which transfers risks associated with construction and financing of the project to the private sector.

Thermally tempered glass is glass that is strengthened by heat treatment. Relatively rapid cooling of the exterior surfaces of the glass results in residual compressive stresses at the glass surfaces. The case depth for thermally tempered glass is about 20 percent of the glass thickness. Thus, thermally tempered glass is fairly resistant to scratches and other minor surface damage. The amount of temper is defined by the magnitude of the residual compressive stress at the surface of the glass. Fully tempered glass has residual surface compressive stresses that exceed 13, 000 psi and are often as high as 25, 000 to 30, 000 psi. Fully tempered glass breaks into very small pieces when fractured. For transit applications thermally tempered glass is used to reduce the likelihood of lacerations whenever single-ply glass is required.

World exposition sanctioned by the International Bureau of Expositions, held in Vancouver 2 May-30 Oct. 1986. The theme, Transportation and Communication, celebrated the centenaires of the founding of Vancouver and the arrival on the Pacific coast of the first passenger train. Fifty-four governments and industries from six continents participated and there were over 22 million individual visits to the site. The commissioner general was Patrick Reid. Located along Vancouver's inner-city waterway, the 70 hectare site featured over 80 pavilions and many indoor and outdoor performance venues, including the Xerox International Theatre, a 1500-seat outdoor amphitheatre; The Big House, a 400-seat theatre of longhouse design; The Barn, a 300-seat proscenium theatre; and the Street of the Expo site on which a street festival took place throughout the exposition's run. The Canadian Pavilion, separate from the main site accessible to visitors by a four--minute ride on Vancouver's new Advanced Light Rapid Transit system, housed five performance spaces including a 500-seat outdoor amphitheatre, the 380-seat Amiga Studio(the exhibition's only enclosed theatre), and the 350-seat Inner Stage.

The service never existed and the Dorval (International) Airport (Montréal-Dorval), now the Montréal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (Montréal-Trudeau), is the main airport for the city of Montréal. The Montréal-Mirabel Airport, still used for cargo flights and, up to Autumn 2004, for charter flights, can likely close.

In any designation, "Montréal" is always written with an accent, the form being the only one registered in the Incorporation Act of the city. The French designation was the official form, the English one being used in current language. The names of the cities of Montréal and of Mirabel (always in this order) are hyphenated to establish the link between the two ends of the transit-to-be.

Vanpool drivers must attend a mandatory training session before they can use this rapid transit lane. The driver training consists of safety, operational and emergency procedures and even includes an over-the-road driving test.
