Many screw designs have been utilized over the years for the various extrusion processes and materials.... The best-known screws can be loosely separated into two categories-conventional screws and barrier screws. Conventional screws usually are single flighted designs with the flight lead(or flight pitch) equal to the screw's nominal diameter. This type is termed a square-pitched screw, and when no mixing devices are present, it usually is referred to as a metering screw. 1, record 2, English, - metering%20screw

On less steep tundra slopes, ice-rich permafrost is commonly insulated from thaw by stable, vegetated regolith. If sudden slippage of regolith occurs, exposure of the permafrost may lead to seasonal retrogression or failure. Alternatively, deeper penetration of thaw into the permafrost itself may induce rapid slippage in which the surface regolith is passively rafted away by failure of the thawed, ice-rich material below.... Such rapid failure of the active layer are commonly referred to as skin flows. 4, record 3, English, - skin%20flow

St. Stephen's Day in Hungary is observed on August 20, the day on which the allegedly sacred relics of Stephen I of Hungary were transferred to the city of Buda. This day is the ultimate public holiday in Hungary. Stephen I, or "Stephanus" as he was named in Latin by Pope Sylvester II, was originally a pagan chieftain's son answering to the name "Vajk". He gouged out the eyes and poured boiling lead into the ears of his arch rival(Vasoly) and was awarded a crown by the pope for forcing catholicism onto the Hungarian people. The converted king was canonized by Pope Gregory VII in AD 1083 and has since been referred to as St Stephen of Hungary. Under communism St. Stephen's Day was referred to by the Hungarians as "The celebration of the new bread-the end of the harvest". 1, record 6, English, - St%2E%20Stephen%26rsquo%3Bs%20Day

The buckwheat flower has no petals-the sexual parts, the ovary, three styles and eight stamens being enclosed in the petallike sepas. Four of the anthers bend out but turn their pollen inward. The other four turn their pollen outward(Knuth 1909, pp. 341-342). Some plants have flowers, referred to as the "thrum" type, with short styles and long filaments so the stamens extend above the styles. Other flowers, referred to as "pin" types, have long styles and short filaments so the stigma is avobe the anthers. Occasionally, the styles and stamens are at the same height. The long stamens and filaments are fully 3 mm; the shorter ones, about 2 mm. Although each plant bears flowers of only one form, the seeds from either form will produce plants having the dimorphic forms in about equal numbers. The thress styles lead to a single ovary with one ovule, so a flower can produce only one seed, which is about one-quarter inch long. 2, record 9, English, - microstylous

Barrier screws are seen in many design configurations used in the extrusion industry, depending upon the designer. These screws have a second flight, which acts as a melt/solid separator designed to enhance output stability and allow higher usable output performance levels. 1, record 12, English, - barrier%20screw

2, record 12, French, - vis%20Maillefer
