An important property insofar as drainage through fabrics is concerned is the porosity or size of opening of the fabric. This is most accurately determined by tests common to the area of quantitative metallography. Such devices as "image analyzers, "which rapidly scan the specimen and give, by light reflection, the percentage of void to fiber, are ideal for this use. Most systems also have data storage capabilities which allow for scanning of a relatively large specimen and thereby obtain meaningful statistical data on the mean size of openings and the standard deviation or variance of these openings. 1, record 1, English, - image%20analyzer

A technique for determining, by tracing imaginary rays of light from the viewer’s eye to the objects in a scene, the parts of the scene that should be displayed in the resulting display image. 6, record 2, English, - ray%20tracing
Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Ray-tracing technique relies on an extremely time-consuming algorithm to compute the reflection and refraction of light from the surfaces of imaginary objects. Basically the computer program traces individual light rays, starting at the viewpoint and passing backward through each pixel in the image plane until the ray hits a surface. The reflected ray is then continued to see if it could have come from a light source, either directly or after reflection from another object. For a transparent surface a second, refracted ray must also be traced. 7, record 2, English, - ray%20tracing

Licensing agreements must have geographical boundaries. For example, use of museum images and information can be licensed for a province, a nation or the world. "Worldwide" use, presumably a reflection of the international market place for electronic products, is not uncommon in licensing agreements for CD-ROM products and related image licensing services. 2, record 15, English, - image%20licensing%20service

2, record 15, French, - service%20de%20licences%20d%27images

Tests for Hydraulic Properties. Porosity or opening size of fabric. 2, record 21, English, - porosity%20test
