Near-infrared reflectance(NIR) imaging is a noninvasive, noncontact, and rapid in vivo examination currently extensively available for ophthalmologists.... the technique enables visualizing subretinal alterations located in the retinal photoreceptor layer, the retinal pigmented epithelium(RPE), and choroid. The basis is a long excitation wavelength([approximately] 820 nm [nanometres] diode laser) that penetrates the optic media and enables visualizing the retina and choroid in detail. Changes in reflection and absorption of light through retinal tissues enhance visualization of structures beneath the retinal pigment epithelium(RPE) and melanin. Images often correlate with blue-light fundus autofluorescence(FAF) ;however, NIR demonstrates superiority in revealing sub-RPE lesions. 2, record 1, English, - near%2Dinfrared%20reflectance%20imaging

Record number: 2, Textual support number: 1 CONT
Ray-tracing technique relies on an extremely time-consuming algorithm to compute the reflection and refraction of light from the surfaces of imaginary objects. Basically the computer program traces individual light rays, starting at the viewpoint and passing backward through each pixel in the image plane until the ray hits a surface. The reflected ray is then continued to see if it could have come from a light source, either directly or after reflection from another object. For a transparent surface a second, refracted ray must also be traced. 7, record 2, English, - ray%20tracing

We present a novel technique in which a reflection scanning near-field optical microscope(SNOM) is used for direct writing of nano-scale patterns into hydrogen-passivated silicon surfaces. The reflection SNOM is operated as a combined shear-force/near-field microscope enabling simultaneous imaging of topographical and optical properties with subwavelength resolution.... Beside high resolution optical imaging(<50 nm) and patterning of hydrogen-passivated silicon surfaces, the SNOM can also be used for transferring nano-scale patterns into ordinary photo resist with a typical resolution of 50-100 nm. The SNOM thereby overcomes the far-field diffraction limit of conventional photolithography. 5, record 4, English, - scanning%20near%2Dfield%20optical%20microscope

A nondirective form of humanistic(psycho) therapy or treatment, developed by Carl Rogers, that focuses on nonjudgmental support of client's point of view(unconditional positive regard, empathy, and congruence) and on the use of the counseling technique called "reflection" or the encouragement of expression of feelings. 5, record 10, English, - client%2Dcentered%20therapy

As opposed to "counselor-centered therapy" or "nondirective counsel(l) ing" : all nondirective counselling sessions are client-centered, but not all client-centered sessions are nondirective; some indeed may be confrontational. See also the following related terms : acceptance, unconditional positive regard, reflection, verbal technique, self-actualization. Note that the term "client-centered psychotherapy" is often used by psychiatrists, psychologists(but not group counsellors) as a synonym for "client-centered therapy". 5, record 10, English, - client%2Dcentered%20therapy
