The incident light reading is technically more accurate than reflected light reading because it involves measurement of the brightness of the illuminating source, regardless of the subject. A reflected light reading is taken from camera position, but an incident light reading involves aiming the meter, fitted with an incident light adapter, toward the light source from subject position. The Chilbolton rain radar is a world leader in dual-linear-polarisation measurement techniques. The radar is mounted on a 25m antenna, which gives the radar a high spatial resolution of 0. 25°. Its operating frequency of 3 GHz ensures that the signal is attenuated as little as possible.
