... retromode imaging(RMI) is a noncontact and a noninvasive imaging method that relies on... confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopic technology. Briefly, there are two kinds of light returning back from the fundus once it is illuminated, a direct reflex and a scattered light.... RMI is performed by a scanning laser ophthalmoscope(SLO) working at an infrared wavelength, which creates a pseudo three-dimensional image with highly contrasting margins of retinal abnormalities(e. g., neurosensory detachments, retinal holes, retinoschisis and intraretinal cystic fluid). 5, record 1, English, - scanning%20laser%20ophthalmoscopy%20retromode%20imaging

2, record 3, French, - t%C3%A9tanos

To maintain a stable perception of the world around us while we engage in normal movements throughout our day, such as walking, we have something known as the vestibulo-ocular reflex(VOR). This reflex keeps us steady and balanced even though our eyes and head are continuously moving when we perform most actions. When we make a head movement, our eye muscles are triggered instantly to create an eye movement opposite to that of our head movement at the exact same speed to readjust the visual world, which, in turn, stabilizes our retinal image by keeping the eye still in space and focused on an object, despite the head motion. 8, record 7, English, - vestibulo%2Docular%20reflex

Acoustic reflex decay measures the ability of the stapedius muscle to maintain sustained contraction. During this test, a signal is presented 10 dB [decibels] above the acoustic reflex threshold for 10 s [seconds]. A response is considered abnormal if the response amplitude decreases to one half or less of its original amplitude within 5 s. Because reflex decay is common in many normal ears at higher test frequencies, frequencies of 500 Hz [hertz] and 1000 Hz are most often used in acoustic reflex decay tests. 3, record 12, English, - acoustic%20reflex%20decay%20test

Sneezing is most often induced by contact with infectious agents or inhalation of irritant dusts and chemical fumes. An unusual phenomenon known as the photic sneeze reflex, sun sneeze or ACHOO(autosomal cholinergic helio-ophtalmologic outburst) syndrome has been described in the literature but has rarely undergone scientific investigation. This reflex is characterized by the induction of a sneeze upon sudden exposure of a dark-adapted subject to intensive bright light. 3, record 14, English, - photic%20sneeze%20reflex

For the first month or so of life, the ruminant is functionally a monogastric. The forestomachs are formed, but are not yet fully developed. If milk is introduced into such a rumen, it basically rots rather than being fermented. To avoid this problem in such young ruminants, suckling causes a reflex closure of muscular folds that form a channel from the esophageal orifice toward the omasum(the esophageal groove), shunting milk away from the rumen and straight toward the stomach where it can be curdled by rennin and eventually digested enzymatically. 4, record 24, English, - reticular%20groove

Twin lens reflex cameras have two lenses... The upper or "viewing" lens reflects off a fixed mirror and forms an image on a ground glass screen on top of the camera. The lower lens is the one which takes the photograph, and is fitted with a shutter and diaphragm. To use... look down onto the focusing screen to see what you are photographing. Turning the focusing knob moves both lenses backwards and forwards, so when your subject is sharply imaged on the ground glass the taking lens is also focused to give a sharp image on film. 3, record 34, English, - twin%20lens%20reflex%20camera

The key to the single-lens reflex camera is a mirror. Light coming in through the camera lens is reflected upward by this mirror to a viewing screen, then through a five-sided prism that turns the inverted image right-side up and right-side round and delivers it to the eye. When a picture is taken, the mirror snaps up momentarily... permitting light to strike the film at the back of the camera. The rail was originally for scopes. However, once established, the use of the system was expanded to other accessories, such as tactical lights, laser aiming modules, night vision devices, reflex sights, foregrips, bipods and bayonets. Because they were originally designed and used for telescopic sights, the rails were first used only on the receivers of larger caliber rifles.
