RELAY AMPLIFIER [10 records]

Record 1 2006-04-03

English

Subject field(s)
  • Vacuum Tubes (Electronics)
  • Gas and Oil Heating
DEF

a high power electron tube sensitive to ultraviolet radiation, used in the Minipeeper Ultraviolet Flame Detectors.

OBS

When saturated with ultraviolet radiation, this tube delivers about 1/10 watt to the flame signal amplifier. The flame relay requires about 3/4 watt to pull in, so little power amplification is required.

  • Chauffage au gaz et au mazout
OBS

ultraviolet : Cette graphie, puisée des Rectifications de l'orthographe recommandées par le Conseil supérieur de la langue française, est attestée dans le Petit Robert (2006).

Record 5 2000-06-02

English

Subject field(s)
  • Amplifiers (Electronics)
  • Electronic Measurements
  • Thermoelectricity and Thermoelectronics
  • Burners and Steamfitting
DEF

The part of the flame detection system which increases the flame signal to a magnitude sufficient to pull in the flame relay in the flame safeguard control. The amplifier may be a permanent part of the flame safeguard control, or it may be a replaceable, plug-in unit.

CONT

Hegwein pilot burners are compact, sturdy, and feature a modular design. Models are available with a built-in ignition transformer, or with both flame signal amplifier and ignition transformer.

OBS

Flame signal: the current measured at the meter jack of a flame signal amplifier in a flame safeguard control. The current is produced by the flame detector when it senses a flame.

OBS

Conventional multi-burner scanners have relied on the strength or amplitude of the flame signal to discriminate between burner flame-on and burner flame-off. This is most often done by using the amplitude output of the flame signal after bandpass or highpass filtering.

Record 7 2000-02-28

English

Subject field(s)
  • Amplifiers (Electronics)
DEF

The point at which an increased input signal no longer increases the amplifier output.

CONT

The S512 with its PbS [lead sulfide] photo detector has a linear response from low to medium brightness flames, that is, no distortion of flame signal occurs with regard to any amplifier saturation or AGC action (compression), However, saturation will occur with the PbS element on bright flame. This condition can easily be rectified by using orificing (placing disk with small aperture in front of lens to reduce the amount of light or radiation).

OBS

flame signal amplifier : the part of the flame detection system which increases the flame signal to a magnitude sufficient to pull in the flame relay in the flame safeguard control.

French

Domaine(s)
  • Amplificateurs (Électronique)
CONT
