A contest of basic cowboy skills that is indigenous to the ranges of the Western United States and Canada.

OBS

The term "rodeo" comes from a Spanish word meaning "roundup", and the sport developed from the natural competitive urges of cowboys involved in mass roundups on the western plains. The principal events of rodeos today are bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback [bronc] riding, calf roping, and steer wrestling, with steer roping and team roping contests often added to the list. Many rodeos add some other popular events such as barrel riding(a slalom-like race for women on horseback around a number of barrels), wild-horse racing, and wild-cow milking contests essentially for the amusement of the audiences. Organized rodeos go back to the 19th century; the principal feature of Buffalo Bill Cody's famous Wild West show, which began in 1883, was the rodeo.

Canada. Rodeos are generally divided into 5 events: bareback bronc riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, calf roping, and steer wrestling.

Roundup Ready® plants produce the same natural proteins as any other plant with one notable exception. These plants make an additional protein which allows them to grow in the presence of Glyphosate, known commercially as "Roundup, "one of the most widely-used herbicides employed by back-yard gardeners, homeowners, golf courses and commercial farms for the past 25 years. The protein is not a toxin to plants, animals, insects, humans or bacteria.

Crops of Roundup Ready plants, such as canola, may be safely sprayed with Roundup herbicide after the crop has emerged, so that non-glyphosate resistant plants such as weeds are killed, without harming the crop of interest.

Un «round up» est un rassemblement de bétail, ayant lieu en moyenne deux fois par an (printemps et automne) avant le changement de pâture. Sur une surface immense [...] les cowboys à cheval se repartissent chacun un secteur sur lequel ils tournent avec leurs chevaux, dessinant des cercles qu'ils resserrent de plus en plus afin de rassembler le bétail au point central du terrain. Une fois les animaux rassemblés en un point donné, les cowboys les poussent soit vers le prochain pâturage, soit vers le corral pour le marquage.
