When used, these elements should not self-activate; rather, they should be user-controlled, meaning both activation and deactivation are dependent upon specific requests from the user.

Les Directives pour l'accessibilité aux contenus Web du Consortium W3C n'interdisent pas l'utilisation d'images et de textes animés ou déroulants. Par contre, elles fournissent des instructions formelles sur la façon de les insérer dans un site sans en réduire l'accessibilité. Lorsque ces éléments sont utilisés, ils ne devraient pas s'activer automatiquement.
