AC256 is an old product line from Andover Controls Corp. ... Some general info about the AC256: Programming is accomplished with drum programming [where] each drum has control lines, a comment line and an emergency line. In the programming there are things like flags, counters, conversion variables, expressions and external variables. 2, record 1, English, - drum%20programming

[The patent] disclosed a novel programmable sequence controller employing a revolutionary programming method, herein called asynchronous drum programming, wherein a digital computer simulates a plurality of drums, each comprising a plurality of drum lines. Each drum is assigned to a particular output to be controlled and each drum line contains one or more logical statements providing exit conditions to further drum lines. This programming method allows ordinary maintenance people to program such programmable controllers for use in energy management systems. 3, record 1, English, - drum%20programming

Oil furnace operations have not changed very much. On a call for heat from the thermostat, the burner motor will start. Oil is now pumped to the nozzle, and the ignition transformer is energized. The nozzle is designed to spray the oil into the fire tube as a fine mist. The ignition transformer is designed to create an electrical arc across the electrodes. As the oil mist (also mixed with air) comes in contact with the arc, ignition takes place, and the fire is started. 2, record 2, English, - call%20for%20heat

Burner controller : The controller is usually located in front of the burner. On a call for heat the controller starts a sequence of events that ensure safe operation before the burner is allowed to start. The controller continues to monitor burner operation while the boiler is running. If for any reason the controller senses an unsafe operating condition it will shut the burner off. Pushing the manual reset on the controller will often restart the boiler. 3, record 2, English, - call%20for%20heat

At startup, terminal 3 is energized, powering the blower motor through terminal M. The blower pressure switch contact closes, completing the interlock circuit between terminals 3 and P when blower pressure reaches 16 in. water column. Terminal X is powered to position the choke valve in its high fire position, with the high fire interlock satisfied via a jumper between terminals 3 and 10.(It is noted that the choke valve is normally open during this part of the sequence due to the way the valve motor is connected to the controller). The programmed sequence is now initiated. The Blower and Purge LED indicators on the Fireye controller will light. 3, record 3, English, - high%20fire%20interlock
