Fur seals are any of nine species of pinnipeds in the Otariidae family. One species, the northern fur seal (Callorhinus ursinus) inhabits the North Pacific, while seven species in the Arctocephalus genus are found primarily in the Southern hemisphere. They are much more closely related to sea lions than true seals, and share with them external ears (pinnae), relatively long and muscular foreflippers, and the ability to walk on all fours. They are marked by their dense underfur, which made them a long-time object of commercial hunting. 3, record 7, English, - fur%20seal

We have examined phylogenetic and geographic patterns of variation in the mitochondrial cytochrome b gene of Southern Hemisphere fur seals(Arctocephalus spp.). Our survey of 106 individuals from four putative species reveals three distinct patterns of variation reflecting ancient, recent historic, and contemporary gene flow. For the combined samples of Subantarctic(Arctocephalus tropicalis) and Antarctic(Arctocephalus gazella) fur seals, we find low levels of sequence diversity and reciprocal paraphyly of hapiotypes(where representative haplotypes of a species are found to occur infrequently in another species and vice versa). 4, record 7, English, - fur%20seal

Multistage bleaching performed in one or two towers. Pulp is pushed through a tower in plug flow; chemicals and wash water are injected to treat the pulp, displace out the solutions of the previous stages and, in turn, are displaced out of the pulp by subsequent stages. This form of bleaching has the advantages of rapid reaction rates, savings in heat and power, and the reduction of the number of towers required for a bleaching sequence. However this technology has been shown to have very high bleach chemical consumption. 3, record 15, English, - displacement%20bleaching

2, record 15, French, - blanchiment%20par%20d%C3%A9placement

A constraint language is a programming environment that simulates the behavior of a complex system described by the programmer as a set of relations, or constraints, on a set of variables. It is convenient to think of the constraint language as an interpreter, managing this system of constraints and variables. 2, record 17, English, - constraint%20language

Next, the liquor is pumped to the direct-contact evaporator where the solids concentration increases from both evaporation and further pickup of dust from the contacted gases. 1, record 18, English, - wet%2Dbottom%20precipitator
