Algorithm animations have been helping not only the teachers in illustrating algorithm operations effectively, but also a vast number of students in learning the difficult parts of algorithms and data structures.

Algorithms consist of a sequence of operations whose effect on data structures can be visualized using a computer. Students learn algorithms by stepping the animation through the different individual operations, possibly reversing their effect. Algorithmic animation seems to improve the student's understanding of algorithms, but mainly when they can become active participants, not just spectators.

The(Russian) continuous method is an adaptation of the tank method. It was developed in the USSR [Union of Soviet Socialist Republics] and includes a sequence of connected pressurized tanks. Base wine is pumped into the first tank. Measured amounts of the "liqueur de tirage"(solution with yeast and sugar) are added for the secondary fermentation. Then the wine passes through additional tanks containing wood shavings or chips. When the wine reaches the final tanks of the series, it is clarified and any remaining sediment removed. At the end of the process, the wine is bottled.

Kinesin is a dimeric motor protein that can move for several micrometers along a microtubule without dissociating. The two kinesin motor domains are thought to move processively by operating in a hand-over-hand manner, although the mechanism of such cooperativity is unknown. Nous étudions donc la conformation adoptée par ce peptide par différentes méthodes spectroscopiques telles que le dichroïsme circulaire et l'infra-rouge dans différentes conditions. Nous essayons ainsi de déterminer le pourcentage d'hélices présents dans ce peptide. Le comportement de ce peptide synthétique est comparé à ceux de la polylysine et de la polyalanine dans les mêmes conditions.

A type of industrial robot that uses a sophisticate open-loop controller in which an operator "teaches" the robot by manually moving it through the desired sequence. The sequence is stored in the local robot memory and is followed repeatedly in operation.

Self's vision of formalizing teaching in terms of a student model is given a sharp focus in his work on concept teaching(Self, 1977). It differs from other projects by being a formal experiment on teaching rather than a teaching system. The domain is the acquisition of simple conjunctive concepts in a relational language close to first-order logic. An example of the concepts taught by Self's system would be R(x) T(y)("There is a rectangle and no triangle"). The target concept is taught through successive variable-free examples classified as positive or negative instances. For example, the tutor could say that R(a) T(b)("There is a rectangle a and a triangle b") is a negative example. Since the order in which the sequence of instances is presented greatly influences the time the student takes to converge on the correct concept, the idea is for the teacher to use a learning model to optimize its selection of examples.
