Les objectifs de ce genre permettent de corriger les lignes verticales et horizontales des images en rétablissant leur parallélisme par l'effet de leur déplacement de haut en bas et de gauche à droite et de leur pivotement. Il est ainsi possible de contrôler les effets de la perspective et de produire des images plus précises et plus agréables à l'œil.
