Anthropometric measurements were performed using non-elastic, flexible plastic tape. Calf circumference(CC) was measured on the left leg(or the right leg for left-handed persons) in a sitting position with the knee and the ankle at a right angle and the feet resting on the floor. CC was measured at the point of the greatest circumference. The subcutaneous tissues were not compressed.

Paragliders have no rigid structure and are kept in shape by the internal pressure of air, with the pilot suspended by lines beneath. The pilot is clipped into a harness and oriented in a sitting position for maximum comfort. After laying out the wing and lines, launching is simply a matter of moving down the slope a few steps to tension the lines and allow the wind to inflate the wing and raise it above you. Paragliding launches are not as "committing"; if you want to stop your launch, you just stop running and the canopy floats down behind you. The pilot runs down a gentle slope and glides away from the mountain.

Classification is neither intended to be comprehensive nor to be all encompassing. Classification is not by definition inclusive, it is exclusive. Therefore, there is no legal liability to classify everybody. To say someone is not eligible or not classifiable is not to say they are not disabled. The severity of the disability is not in doubt, but some disabilities do not fit into the classification system (Chair IPC [International Paralympic Committee] Classification Committee 2000).

Cable-Reel Shuttle Cars... were introduced in 1939, the year following the first(battery) shuttle car. Practically all present shuttle cars are powered through cable reels. Reels usually hold 500 ft of cable and, therefore, the maximum haul distance should be kept under 400 ft whenever possible. Cable-reel cars are either standard-hand or opposite-standard-hand models. Standard-hand control means that the seats for the operator, together with the controls, are located on the left front or discharge end of the car similar to the operator's position in an American car or truck. An opposite-hand-control car would have the operator sitting on the right-hand side of the car facing forward when traveling to the discharge point. The cable reel always is located on the side opposite the operator.
