The acquisition time course is often over several minutes for DCE [dynamic contrast enhancement], while DSC [dynamic susceptibility-weighted contrast] is about 60 seconds in length. This time allows for measurement of the wash-in and wash-out of the contrast material in the EES [extracellular extravascular space]. There are several methods for image interpretation. The simplest method is to examine the signal intensity curves over time for a region of interest. The rate or slope of the wash-in and wash-out curve for multiple regions of interest can be visually assessed. 2, record 2, English, - wash%2Dout%20curve

The Rutschblock test(shear block) and it's cousin the Rutschkiel test... have rapidly become the standard snowpit test of choice for avalanche professional who do a lot of snowpits... First, on a slope of at least 30 degrees, isolate a block of snow about a ski length across, and a ski pole length up the slope(2 meters wide by 1. 5 meters upslope). If you use a snow saw which mounts on the end of an avalanche probe ski pole you can cut the block in under a minute... Next, simply step onto the block with your skis or snowboard on and jump progressively harder until the block fails. 6, record 8, English, - Rutschblock%20test

Steep gullies, filled with ice and snow, are a frequent source of avalanches because they combine several hazardous features :. Often slope angles exceed 40° so that slab and loose snow avalanches are frequent.. Several independent starting zones can occur on the sides and at different elevations.. The snow condition/stability can vary widely over the length of the gully, making evaluation difficult.. Snow deposition and characteristics are radically affected by the weather in a gully..... The difficulty of escaping to the side and the probability of hitting rocks magnify the danger for persons caught. 2, record 9, English, - gully

The Rutschblock test(shear block) and it's cousin the Rutschkiel test(pronounced Rootch-kyle) have rapidly become the standard snowpit test of choice for avalanche professional who do a lot of snowpits... 1, record 14, English, - Rutschkiel%20test

Les essais de glissement sont des méthodes qui, à partir d'un essai de glissement d'un bloc de neige prédécoupé puis mis sous charge, permettent d'arriver à estimer un degré de risque. The combination of oscillation and slope of the sieve causes the stock to travel slowly along its length. Air currents drawn from the underside of the sieve float the lighter branny particles to the surface of the layer of material on the sieve. Heavier particles of endosperm fall to the lowest strata of material and ride on the surface of the sieve until they reach the part of the sieve that has openings big enough for the particles to fall through. As the particles fall through, they are collected in a series of graded fractions. Thus, at the head end of the purifier, the purest most dense particles of endosperm pass first through the mesh as mixture travels along the sieve, the composite particles of endosperm with adhering bran are next to pass through the mesh, and finally the light coarse branny particles tail over the sieve into separation collecting spouts. 1, record 18, English, - collecting%20spouts

1, record 18, French, - collecteurs
