The downward movement of the scanning beam from top to bottom of the picture being televised. 3, record 1, English, - vertical%20scanning
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 CONT
When the beam has returned to the left side, its vertical position is lowered so that the beam will scan the next line down and not repeat the same line. This is accomplished by the vertical scanning motion of the beam, which is provided in addition to horizontal scanning. As a result of the vertical scanning, all the horizontal lines slope downward slightly from top to bottom. When the beam is at the bottom, vertical retrace returns the beam to the top to start the scanning sequence again. 4, record 1, English, - vertical%20scanning

To produce a quasiperiodic sequence, the strip must be tilted with respect to the lattice so that it has a slope equal to an irrational number.(A number is irrational if, when expressed as a decimal, no set of consecutive digits repeats itself indefinitely...). If the points that are covered by the strip are then projected onto a line parallel to the strip, the projected points will divide the line into a quasiperiodic sequence of long and short segments.... the quasiperiodic sequence produces a sequence of periodicity of the two-dimensional parent lattice. 1, record 2, English, - quasiperiodic%20sequence

1, record 2, French, - suite%20quasi%20p%C3%A9riodique
