Landfill methods. There are three principal landfill methods of landfilling. ... (1) Excavated cell method: This is the most common landfill method as it provides an on-site source of borrow soil for cover and is suited to most topographical settings. A cell is excavated below the ground surface with the cell being filled to a final grade above the ground level. (2) Area method: ... (3) Embankment method (ramp) ... 1, record 1, English, - excavated%20cell%20method
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Two general methods of landfilling have evolved : the area method and the trench method. Some schools of thought also include a third, the slope, or ramp, method.... In a trench sanitary landfill a trench is cut in the ground and the solid wastes are placed in it. The solid wastes are then spread in thin layers, compacted, and covered with earth excavated from the trench. 3, record 1, English, - excavated%20cell%20method
Record number: 1, Textual support number: 1 OBS
The trench method is best suited for flat land where the water table is not near the ground surface. Normally the material excavated from the trench can be used for cover with a minimum of hauling. 3, record 1, English, - excavated%20cell%20method

1, record 1, French, - m%C3%A9thode%20en%20tranch%C3%A9es

Landfill methods. There are three principal landfill methods of landfilling ... (1) Excavated cell method ... (2) Area method ... (3) Embankment method: An embankment method is used in situations where the site topography allows for the landfill to be ramped on a hill side or a steep side slope. This type of landfill has commonly been used in past years for design of landfills in ravines, coulees, or gullies with soil being obtained from the hill side or side slopes. 1, record 5, English, - embankment%20method
Record number: 5, Textual support number: 2 CONT
Two general methods of landfilling have evolved : the area method and the trench method. Some schools of thought also include a third, the slope, or ramp, method. In some operations, a slope or ramp is used in combination with the area or trench methods.... In the ramp or slope method(a variation of the area and trench landfills) the solid wastes are dumped on the side of an existing slope. After spreading the material in thin layers on the slope, the bulldozing equipment compacts it. The cover material, usually obtained just ahead of the working face, is spread on the ramp and compacted. 4, record 5, English, - embankment%20method
